Cabinet Organization Guide

How to Choose the Right Pullouts & Organizers for Every Cabinet

What Goes Where?

Every cabinet type has ideal organizers. Here is what fits and what works best.

Base Cabinets

Wood pullouts, wire baskets, sliding shelves for heavy pots and pans.

Corner Cabinets

Lazy susans, blind corner pullouts that swing out for full access to dead space.

Pantry / Tall Cabinets

Tall wood pullouts, multi-shelf systems that bring everything into reach.

Under Sink

Tip-out trays, cleaning organizers, trash pullouts built for plumbing clearance.

Drawers

Spice inserts, cutlery dividers, peg systems for plates and cookware.

Closets

Hamper pullouts, accessory organizers, tilt-out hampers for laundry and linen closets.

How to Measure Your Cabinets

Three measurements are all you need to find the right pullout.

  1. Cabinet Opening Width
Measure the face frame inner dimension — the clear opening between the two vertical stiles.
  2. Cabinet Depth
Measure from the back wall of the cabinet to the inside face of the face frame, front to back.
  3. Cabinet Height
Measure the interior height from the bottom shelf to the bottom of the shelf above (or the top of the cabinet box).
Width Depth Height
Tip: Measure the opening, not the door. Rev-A-Shelf pullouts are sized by cabinet opening width — the clear space between your face frame stiles.

Pullout Types Explained

Each pullout type serves a different purpose. Here is how they compare.

448 Series

Wood Pullouts

Premium maple construction with adjustable shelves. Matches cabinet interiors for a built-in look. Best for base cabinets and pantries where you want a refined, furniture-grade feel.

Chrome / Nickel

Wire Baskets

Ventilated, see-through, and easy to clean. Great for pantry items where you need airflow and visibility. Available in chrome and nickel finishes.

Single & Double

Waste Systems

Door-mount and bottom-mount options with soft-close. Single or double bins for trash and recycling. Built to handle daily use without slamming.

Kidney & Full-Round

Lazy Susans

Kidney-shaped for blind corners, full-round for corner cabinets. Available in banded wood or durable polymer. Brings dead corner space back to life.

Tip: Wood pullouts feel premium and match Hatley cabinet interiors. Wire baskets are easier to clean for pantry use. Mix both for the best of both worlds.
